I want to present some details on the page:
1. Writers
* Each of those published on this page have been chosen for the quality of their texts, and because in my opinion, every one says something new and adds a new flavor and I'm Puerto Rican literature the Latin American insurance.
* The Bank was a website that was from 2002 to 2005 until it disappeared inexplicably having about 55 writers. This new launch of the site has 88 writers including poets and storytellers and there are some who work both genders. Each poet has a maximum of 5 poems and every storyteller in equal numbers.
* This site has new writers and with texts that are classics, which were published while the old site was, and I could save on CD's for back up I had, some writers and old texts unfortunately lost .
2. The content of the page
* The page opens with an eye, a symbol that we had from the foundation and which is the metaphor of the gaze that we have to our world and for us, a challenging look, open and safe.
* Page principal is an editorial that explains the concept of On the Edge. It has a changeable banner by appointment of 15 writers who belong to the page. In addition, the site has pictorial illustrations of two great friends: Rafi Trelles and Karla Alvarez, Rafi a painter of great social commitment, inspiration and someone who truly honor me with their friendship, Karla is a great friend, born in my people, but daughter of the world with stroke and a highly pictorial work of it.
* As you see, has a menu that makes it very easy to navigate through the page. A menu of writers which includes the photo of each. Also searchable by "Poems" and "Tales." Also, something new at this page comes with integrating new technology to watch videos on the same page without having to go to YouTube or another site. Thus, the menu also notice that there is a link to access the videos available. In addition, more simply, in the top of the page is an index of poems, stories and authors arranged alphabetically.
* each writer's page with their photo, biography, list of stories and poems that will take you to the page where each text and link to videos of that and have.
* The order of the writers in the main menu by last name. However, mysterious but interesting things, entering the data page Mairym Janette and appeared in the second and place of the list. Furthermore, Amarilys made a mistake because I watched the second last name and not the first. Moreover, the last person on the list is because they had received some information.
3. The development process of the page
* The process of the new site began in February 2009 in which I called the writers invited to be part of this process and putting an end date of issue. People who answered and the other texts already had close to 88 writers who are the ones included in this first publication of this new on the shore.
* In 2009 I had a person who was interested in setting up the page. Unfortunately, that person was affected by health problems as well as the strike of the UPR, where that person works. Between one thing and another, that stopped the whole process.
* month and a half ago, I put on Facebook status if anyone knew of a webmaster to contact me for a cultural project. So few people contacted me with people, but a great friend of mine contacted her brother who lives in Arecibo who read a proposal he had written on the page and was interested. So much so that when I said it was a project that does not generate any economic but for love of art, told me the work as cheaply as possible, but with great quality. Such was the commitment to this person and his company, which after 3 days of contacting us and we had internet address and created a platform on which to mount the page.
* This person wanted to create a page in which I did not have to depend on him to maintain it, so that I had total control of information entering the page, they only make technical adjustments in programming to our needs, but the platform they did was so good that there has been minimal details that have had to adjust.
* on Friday November 19 in San Juan, I met with the developer who developed the platform of the page which would give me the keys to access the page and a tutorial on how to assemble the different components page. Mounting work texts appeared relatively straightforward, but in the way many of these texts had complications which worked with patience and dedication. There were many intense hours of work and sleepless nights wanting to get a computer to continue working and meet my goal, fortunately, had the text of the page where I used flash drive to back up. To give you an idea, the site has about 600 articles which I walked one by one, add more to it biographies, resize the photos to make them uniform, more into movies. What helped me a bit is that I am very professional and organized and everyone of you had a text with your photos biography and the texts were chosen from each.
* From November 19, work began to mount up the text page. Even when he was injured and I have my laptop, I set the goal to have the site fully completed by 1 December. Thus, between laptop that borrowed from time to time, arriving early and leaving my work later, going home to family and couple of people who helped me with photos and ideas, is that I could achieve the goal I set myself and which I am proud and now I present you with humble hope that meets your expectations.
4. Present and Future of the page
* I am submitting the page to disclose the existence of the shore and can be used as a resource in their classes.
* As the editorial proposal from the beginning, the page will be reissued every six months.
